On May 30, 2007, 20-year-old William DeAngelo Perry was found fatally shot on the steps in front of his apartment building at 8009 1st Avenue South in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident was part of a series of homicides that year, contributing to the city's total of 94 homicides in 2007.
