On November 1, 2008, 19-year-old Jamie L. Hedgeman, a male resident of Birmingham, Alabama, was fatally shot in the Kimbrough Homes housing complex, also known as the Wenonah Projects. The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. in the 2800 block of John Bryan Road. After being shot, Hedgeman managed to make his way to his mother's apartment, telling her that the individuals who shot him were in a brown Cadillac before collapsing.
