On February 13, 2009, 34-year-old Demarshell Nicol Taper was tragically murdered in Birmingham, Alabama. Originally from Mississippi, Demarshell had resided in Birmingham for approximately two years prior to her death. On that fateful day, she was found shot in the head, lying face up on the concrete in Arthur Shores Park, located in the Druid Hills neighborhood.
