A former volunteer firefighter from Kansas, she was a devoted wife to Geneva County Sheriff's Deputy Joshua Myers and a loving mother to their children. That afternoon, Andrea and her two young daughters were visiting neighbors across the street from their home.
The ordinary day turned into a nightmare when Michael McLendon, a
28-year-old local man, arrived at the neighboring home and opened fire on everyone present on the porch without uttering a word. Andrea and her 18-month-old daughter, Corrine Gracy Myers, were among the five people killed at that location. Her infant daughter, Ella Kay, was also wounded in the attack but survived. Her son, Isaak, who was inside the Myers' home, was unharmed. The attack was part of a larger rampage by McLendon that day, during which he killed a total of ten people in two counties before taking his own life.
