Sarah Cooper, 33, a white woman, was mortally wounded on February 16, 2019, in the small south Alabama town of Samson. Just before noon, police and emergency responders rushed to the 500 block of Pullum Street after a report of a firearm assault. When officers arrived, they found Cooper suffering from what was believed to be a single gunshot wound. She was taken to Wiregrass Medical Center in nearby Geneva, but she did not survive her injuries.
