In December 2011, 20-year-old Cornelius Powell of Huntsville, Alabama, was fatally shot during a botched robbery attempt. Powell and his best friend, Xavier Green, conspired to rob two drug dealers at the Twickenham Village Apartments on Galaxy Way. During the attempted robbery, a confrontation ensued, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Both Powell and Green were struck by bullets; Powell succumbed to his injuries, while Green survived.
