On May 6, 2014, 30-year-old Daniel Lanier Dawsey was fatally shot in the head during an altercation on Eugene Street in Dothan, Alabama. Responding to the scene around 8:33 p.m., Dothan police found Dawsey unresponsive; he was transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:30 p.m.
