On a spring evening in Dothan, Alabama, a dispute between two men escalated into a fatal encounter that ended the life of Daniel Lanier Dawsey. The 31-year-old man was found unresponsive on the ground in the 100 block of Eugene Street around 8:30 p.m. on May 6, 2014. Emergency services transported him to Southeast Alabama Medical Center, but he succumbed to his injuries about an hour later.
