On July 2, 2014, in Athens, Alabama, the bodies of 73-year-old May Chao-Mei Hu and her 39-year-old son, Robin Shen Hu, were discovered in their shared residence. A UPS delivery person found a note on their door, prompting a call to the police. Upon investigation, authorities found evidence suggesting that Robin had fatally shot his mother before taking his own life. The police awaited forensic results to confirm this sequence of events.
