Death by Force

On January 1, 2023, 26-year-old Alexis Laperion Garth of Athens, Alabama, was fatally shot during a domestic dispute. Around 4 a.m., Athens Police Department officers responded to a domestic violence-related shooting on Oakdale Ridge Lane, where they found Garth lying in the driveway with multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to Huntsville Hospital but succumbed to her injuries a few hours later.
