On January 11, 2015, in Moulton, Alabama, 46-year-old Jimmy Dale "J.D." Summerford was fatally shot during an early morning incident. Lawrence County deputies responded to a residence on County Road 539, where they discovered Summerford deceased from a single gunshot wound. The homeowner reported that Summerford was attempting to break into his home at the time of the shooting.
