In the quiet, early morning hours of November 4, 2023, the life of 40-year-old Dustin Riley 'Dusty' Grimes was tragically cut short in his Moulton, Alabama, home. A male and a female intruder broke into the residence on County Road 245 with the intent to commit a robbery. In a selfless act of protection, Grimes was fatally shot in his bedroom while defending his wife, Karen.
