On July 2, 2015, 20-year-old Anthony Shane Gibson left his grandmother's home in Harpersville, Alabama, driving her white 1998 Ford Escort, intending to visit a nearby store. When he failed to return, his family grew concerned and reported him missing. Three days later, on July 5, a group of individuals riding four-wheelers in a wooded area off Markeeta Road in Leeds discovered a severely burned body. Authorities identified the remains as those of Anthony Gibson.
