On November 28, 2015, in Jasper, Alabama, 45-year-old Anthony Scott Downs was fatally shot in the chest at a mobile home located at 3438 Tate Road. The incident occurred around 9 a.m., prompting a response from Walker County Sheriff's deputies and Jasper police officers. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Downs deceased and 35-year-old Amy Tidwell suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.
