On October 2, 2020, 44-year-old Daniel Loren Blake was fatally shot at the Oak Hill Chevron gas station on Highway 78 in Jasper, Alabama. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. and was reportedly the result of a road rage confrontation between Blake and another individual. The altercation escalated into a physical fight, culminating in Blake being shot. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
