On the sweltering summer night of Friday, July 18, 2008, Keith Ricardo Hines, a 29-year-old man, was trying to escape the heat on the porch of his Washington, D.C. home. It was there, in the 900 block of Allison Street, NW, at approximately 11:34 p.m., that his life was abruptly ended by a fatal gunshot to the head. An unknown person had walked up to his porch and fired the deadly shot, leaving a void in the lives of those who knew him.
