On the night of May 16, 2016, William "Phatzo" Craig Hawkins, aged 38, was fatally shot during a home invasion at his residence on Collier Street in Dothan, Alabama. Several armed suspects entered his home, leading to a physical altercation between Hawkins and one of the intruders. During the struggle, Hawkins sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso and succumbed to his injuries before emergency responders arrived.
