Christopher Perry, a 33-year-old Black man, was killed in Birmingham on July 23, 2017, in a shooting that unfolded in the early-morning hours inside a home in the Powderly area. Reports place the violence around 1:50 a.m. at a residence in the 2300 block of 17th Street West, where officers from Birmingham’s West Precinct were sent on a call about a person who had been shot.
