Ty Alexander Pepper, an 18-year-old from Birmingham, Alabama, was fatally shot on February 12, 2018. The incident occurred in the early morning hours in the 200 block of 5th Avenue South, a street located in a part of the city known for its mix of residential and commercial properties.
