On the evening of June 1, 2018, 32-year-old Daniel Perez was fatally shot at his residence on Memorial Parkway in Aliceville, Alabama. The incident occurred between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., when an unidentified assailant entered Perez's home and shot him once in the chest. A witness present during the attack reported seeing a man wearing a black ski mask and long sleeves fleeing the scene. Perez, who worked at a local lumber company, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
