In the summer of 2018, a heartbreaking event unfolded in the small city of Athens, Alabama, leaving the community in shock and mourning. On Saturday, July 28, 10-year-old Chevy Jace Redus Christopher, a young male student at Cowart Elementary School, tragically lost his life. Born on April 4, 2008, in Decatur, Alabama, Chevy's life was cut short in a devastating act of gun violence that also claimed the life of 84-year-old Betty Sue Christopher.
