On a summer evening in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of Brian Lee Hill, a 43-year-old Black / African American male, was cut short by violence. On July 28, 2018, Hill was discovered fatally shot inside a vehicle in the Pratt City neighborhood.

The discovery was made by Birmingham police officers who were on patrol in the area. They came upon the vehicle and found Hill inside, having sustained a gunshot wound. Despite the immediate response, his injuries proved fatal.
