On October 11, 2020, 26-year-old Jon Deundre Whitt was shot multiple times during a rap concert at Side Effects Night Club, located at 400 2nd Avenue North in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 2:23 a.m., when officers from the North Precinct responded to reports of a person shot inside the club.
