On June 10, 2021, Earnest La'Darrius Moody Jr., a 33-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at an apartment complex located in the 1900 block of 14th Avenue North. Responding officers found Moody lying on the steps of the apartment building, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
