On September 22, 2018, the bodies of 70-year-old Parrish City Councilman John Allen Softley and 30-year-old Monica Jean Graves were discovered inside a pickup truck under an Interstate 22 overpass near Dora, Alabama. Both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
