On September 14, 2020, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to a call reporting a body discovered in a field near the 1500 block of Pratt Highway. Upon arrival, deputies found the remains of 29-year-old Antonio Bass, who had been missing from his Birmingham apartment since September 9. Bass was a devoted father to two daughters, aged seven years and six months.
