On February 27, 2021, in Dora, Alabama, 27-year-old Roger Dale Gibson was fatally shot during a confrontation with local police officers. The incident occurred in the 500 block of High Street, where officers responded to a disturbance call. Upon arrival, a physical altercation ensued between Gibson and the officers, leading to the discharge of firearms. Gibson sustained critical injuries and was transported to Walker Baptist Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
