In the early morning hours of October 11, 2018, the life of 24-year-old Skyler Lewis, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Birmingham, Alabama. Birmingham police officers were dispatched to a home in the Ensley neighborhood just before 3:30 a.m. Inside the residence, they discovered a grim scene. Lewis was found lying unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds.
