Investigator Dornell Cousette, a 13-year veteran of the Tuscaloosa Police Department, lost his life in the line of duty on September 16, 2019. He was 40 years old at the time of his death. Cousette was shot and killed while attempting to serve a warrant at a home near the intersection of Short 17th Street and 33rd Avenue.
