On an autumn evening in Dothan, Alabama, the life of 25-year-old Bernard Bryant was tragically cut short. On October 24, 2019, Bryant was outside in the 1200 block of Greenwood Drive, engaged in conversation with several other people. The ordinary scene turned horrific when a male figure, obscured by a Halloween mask and dressed in orange clothing, emerged from behind a privacy fence. This unidentified individual fired a weapon, striking Bryant under the armpit.
The bullet traveled into his chest, inflicting a fatal wound.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, chaos ensued as the suspect fled the scene on foot. The Dothan Police Department responded swiftly, deploying K-9 units to track the perpetrator, but the trail went cold.
