On November 21, 2019, 27-year-old Jarmaine Cardell Jones was fatally shot outside an apartment at Decatur Place Apartments on Courtney Drive Southwest in Decatur, Alabama. Witnesses reported that Jones was working under the hood of his car when his cousin, 31-year-old Shadeed Abdul Fuqua, approached and shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene. Jones sustained 11 gunshot wounds and was transported to Decatur Morgan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
