In the spring of 2020, a shooting incident in Montgomery, Alabama, claimed the life of a young man. The victim was identified as 26-year-old Ricklson Debrum, a male resident of the city.
On the evening of Wednesday, April 1, 2020, officers from the Montgomery Police Department were dispatched to the 3800 block of Cherry Street after receiving a report of a person having been shot. Upon their arrival at the scene, they discovered Debrum, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Another individual was also found at the location with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
Further investigation into the incident by the Montgomery Police Department led to the identification and subsequent arrest of a suspect. Twenty-six-year-old Montgomery resident Tydarrious Devance Crittenden was taken into custody on Friday, April 3, 2020. He was officially charged with one count of murder and one count of first-degree assault in connection with the shooting that resulted in the death of Ricklson Debrum and the injury of the second victim. Following his arrest, Crittenden was placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
