On a summer morning in Huntsville, Alabama, the body of 41-year-old Stacy Lashay Pleasure, a male, was discovered in an open grassy area off of Oakwood Road on July 8, 2020. The cause of death was later attributed to gun violence. The tragic discovery launched a homicide investigation by the Huntsville Police Department's Major Crimes Unit.
Investigators diligently worked the case and soon identified a person of interest. They put out a BOLO for 26-year-old Druvante Trenain Love. The search for Love came to an end in the early morning hours of July 31, 2020, when patrol officers witnessed a possible domestic dispute in a motel parking lot on University Drive. The male involved in the altercation was identified as Druvante Trenain Love.
Upon being approached by officers, Love attempted to discard a substance that was later identified as methamphetamine. He was taken into custody and arrested for domestic violence and possession of a controlled substance. Following his arrest on these charges, Major Crimes Investigators were able to conduct a criminal interview with Love regarding the death of Stacy Pleasure. On August 3, 2020, Druvante Trenain Love was arrested and charged with the murder of Stacy Lashay Pleasure.
