In the late morning of May 26, 2015, a violent altercation in Huntsville, Alabama, claimed the life of 28-year-old Christopher Scott Cameron. The fatal incident occurred around 10:50 a.m. in the 4000 block of Pulaski Pike. Huntsville Police responded to the scene and discovered Cameron, who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
Investigations into the shooting quickly pointed to a dispute between Cameron and another individual.
Within a day of the incident, the Huntsville Police Department's Major Crimes Unit identified 38-year-old Jerriance Dural Freeman as the suspect in Cameron's death. A warrant was promptly issued for his arrest on a charge of murder.
The search for Freeman involved a collaboration between local and federal law enforcement agencies. Agents with the U.S. Marshals located and apprehended Freeman in Colbert County. Following his arrest, he was extradited back to Huntsville and booked into the Madison County Jail to face the murder charge brought against him.
