On September 27, 2020, at approximately 3:30 a.m., 30-year-old Lamar Merritt of Montgomery, Alabama, was shot in the 3400 block of Mobile Highway. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Montgomery Police Department initiated a homicide investigation into the incident.
