In the late hours of a September day in Mobile, Alabama, a burst of violence claimed the life of 25-year-old Keontae Deshaun McCants. On September 29, 2020, McCants was shot on Lyric Street in Prichard and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. His death would set in motion a tragic and swift cycle of retaliation, engulfing another family in loss and grief.
