Stephanie Dianne Hartwell, a 25-year-old mother of three, disappeared on November 28, 2001, from Columbia, Mississippi. That morning, she walked her children to the school bus stop and was last seen between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. getting into a green four-door Saturn with tinted windows. She was supposed to babysit her nephew for her sister later that day but never returned.
After her disappearance, Hartwell's purse was found, though nothing appeared to be missing from it.
Despite extensive searches, no further clues emerged about her whereabouts. Stephanie had several tattoos, including the initials "R.J.J.T." on her right forearm, a butterfly on her right bicep, "Steph" on her left bicep, and a heart on her left thigh. She also had a small scar under her right eye.
