Jessica Nicole Stacks, a 28-year-old from New Albany, Mississippi, was last seen on January 1, 2021. That morning, she and her boyfriend, Jerry Wayne Baggett, reportedly launched a small boat on the rain-swollen Tallahatchie River. Baggett later claimed that after the boat began taking on water, Jessica decided to leave the boat and walk through the river bottom toward Highway 30. She has not been seen or heard from since that moment.
Baggett reported her missing approximately 12 hours later, and a subsequent search uncovered a coat, gloves, and a green rubber boot believed to belong to Jessica along the riverbank. Despite an extensive investigation, no trace of her has been found, and the case remains unsolved. Suspicion has surrounded Baggett’s story, especially after he changed his account of the events two years later, claiming he never saw her on the day of her disappearance.
Jessica’s family has expressed doubt regarding Baggett’s version of events, believing she may never have been on the boat and possibly met with foul play. Despite the lingering questions, investigators have not found definitive evidence to support foul play. The search for answers continues, but as of now, Jessica's whereabouts remain unknown.
