On January 25, 2021, 29-year-old Chase Devin Childress Sr., a resident of Bay Minette, Alabama, was fatally shot in the Crossroads community near Bay Minette. The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. near Whippoorwill Lane and Highway 225. Deputies from the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and found Childress with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, where he succumbed to his injuries.
