On January 18, 2019, 18-year-old Desmond Rashard Cox of Bay Minette, Alabama, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident occurred on Anderson Boulevard, where Cox accidentally shot himself while handling a loaded firearm. He was transported to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries later that day.
