The incident occurred on January 18, when Cox was handling a loaded firearm at a residence on Anderson Boulevard. While with the weapon, he accidentally shot himself. Emergency services were called to the scene, and he was quickly airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital for urgent medical care.
