On September 11, 2021, 25-year-old La'Craig Brown was fatally shot in the parking lot of Fry Daddy's, a restaurant located on St. Stephens Road in Prichard, Alabama. Brown, a resident of Atmore, was known for selling high-end shoes and was in the area to conduct a sale. His family believes the incident was a senseless robbery attempt, noting that Brown was generous and would have willingly given up his possessions to avoid conflict.
