On a Saturday night in September 2021, LaCraig Brown, a 25-year-old male from Atmore, Alabama, traveled to Prichard with the intention of selling high-end shoes. He made a stop at Fry Daddy's, a local restaurant, a common practice for him when he was in the Mobile County area. In the parking lot of the establishment on September 11th, Brown was shot in what his family believes was a senseless robbery attempt. He later succumbed to his injuries.
