On the afternoon of Sunday, September 12, 2021, 54-year-old African American woman Lewonda Mosley was found deceased in a vehicle in a parking lot on Oakwood Avenue in Huntsville, Alabama. Responding to a shooting call around 3:15 p.m., Huntsville Police officers discovered Ms. Mosley had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. A second vehicle at the scene showed signs of gunfire damage, though no injuries were reported from that vehicle.
