In the late afternoon of Sunday, September 12, 2021, the life of 54-year-old Lewonda Mosley was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Huntsville, Alabama. Officers from the Huntsville Police Department were dispatched to a parking lot in the 200 block of Oakwood Avenue around 3:15 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Ms.
Mosley deceased inside a vehicle.
The investigation into the death of the female victim was swift, and the Major Crimes Unit of the Huntsville Police Department identified two individuals in connection with the incident. The following day, on September 13, 2021, authorities announced the arrests of 32-year-old Francis Richard and 40-year-old Clarence Mann. Both men were subsequently charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Lewonda Mosley.
In addition to the capital murder charges, both Richard and Mann faced a separate charge of shooting into an occupied vehicle. At the time of their arrest, law enforcement officials indicated that the investigation was ongoing and that no further details would be immediately released to the public.
