In the small town of Moundville, Alabama, a family dispute on a Friday afternoon escalated into a tragedy that ended the life of 47-year-old Jayson Tyrone Duncan. On January 7, 2022, law enforcement and medical teams responded to a call on County Line Road, where they found Duncan with a single gunshot wound to his abdomen. Family members were attempting to perform CPR when help arrived.
Emergency responders transported Jayson Duncan to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The incident, which shattered the quiet of the late afternoon, was reported to have stemmed from a domestic altercation. Jayson, a white male born on March 4, 1974, was a resident of Moundville.
In the aftermath of the shooting, police began an investigation that quickly led to a suspect. After conducting interviews with the suspect and others in the vicinity, authorities took 25-year-old Dillon Duncan into custody. He was subsequently charged with murder in connection with the death of Jayson Duncan, who was identified as a family member. Dillon Duncan was then booked into the Hale County Jail.
