On January 9, 2022, 21-year-old Jeffery Reed of Montgomery, Alabama, was fatally shot during an incident at Bama Lanes bowling alley on Atlanta Highway. The shooting occurred around 1 a.m., resulting in Reed's death and injuries to six others. Upon arrival, police discovered Reed deceased from a gunshot wound and identified additional victims at local hospitals, including two men with life-threatening injuries and four others with non-life-threatening injuries.
