On January 19, 2022, 56-year-old Carolyn Jeanette Bennett of Anniston, Alabama, was fatally shot in an incident identified as an attempted murder-suicide. Anniston Police responded to reports of a gunshot victim on Noble Street around 1:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds: a 51-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man.
