On March 13, 2022, in Hillsboro, Alabama, 59-year-old Martha Chardavoyne Athon was found deceased in her home alongside her husband, 54-year-old James "Jay" William Athon Jr. Authorities responded to a welfare check at their residence and discovered both individuals dead from gunshot wounds.
