On June 23, 2022, at approximately 11:50 a.m., 33-year-old Nathan Nigel Wilson Jr. was traveling as a passenger in a silver 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis along Carson Road in Center Point, Alabama. An unidentified assailant in another vehicle fired shots into Wilson's car, causing it to veer off the roadway into a ravine, where it struck multiple trees. Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene.
