On November 12, 2022, during the National Peanut Festival Parade in Dothan, Alabama, a confrontation near the intersection of West Main Street and Montana Street escalated into gunfire. Garyoun Tyrone Fluellen, 22, sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso and was transported to Southeast Health, where he was pronounced deceased.
