On March 31, 2014, Charles Parrish, aged 22, was shot and killed around 9:50 p.m. in the 5400 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, NE, Washington, D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the scene following reports of gunfire, but by the time they arrived, Parrish had succumbed to his injuries.
