On May 31, 2023, at approximately 9:37 p.m., Valley Police Department officers responded to a shooting at the Verandas Apartments in Valley, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 27-year-old Ericsson Nino-Sandoval lying in the roadway in front of Building 5, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
