On September 24, 2023, 24-year-old Demetrius Damon "DJ" Windham Jr. was fatally shot outside his residence on Northwood Lake Drive West in Northport, Alabama. The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m., prompting the Northport Police Department to respond to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Windham deceased at the scene.
